We used to be so different, and now we are just like everyone else in this town.
By the way we were heading, you could tell that what comes around, goes around.
Life didn't bring much good to us.
Because nothing was ever good enough.
We always thought that some day we would marry and have a house with a picket fence.
This sure ain't going anywhere at your expense.
So I sort of exaggerated my story of how we met.
I ain't going down, on your last bet.
Now here is how the story ends, on my part.
All is forgiven, with me standing here with a broken heart.
Who says it has to end bad,
Going back to my roots, I think that I have been had.
Smile for just a little while longer,
I will be leaving here feeling just a little bit stronger.
