We Failed
They turn their faces to the sun
we turn ours to the Son
as they bend to the wind
so do we to the Spirit
their lives belong to the earth
ours to God in heaven.
We may enjoy their colourful splendour
and God commissioned us
with looking after all creatures
both big and small
and this earth as a whole.
We failed in our commission!
