It is a scary thought...
How we age rather quickly.
I fail to fathom
Why we should live to die,
Does the earth spin to be still?
Why swim against these rocky seas,
Fight through untaimed winds,
Survive a ruthlessly violent ocean
When actually our only intention
Is to drown ourselves later?
You see in 52 years I'll be 70.
I wonder who I will be;
Have I discovered the world?
Have I written a book?
Have I fallen out of love?
Have I forgotten myself again?
Have I found true happiness
Or have I died
A cruel and unforseen death at 30?
This unknown of my own future
Is like a case ladened with stones
Bestowed onto my head.
I'll be 100 soon...
Still I've done nothing worthy
To be remembered for.
And I am ill at ease knowing
That I am aging day by day.
