K

Weeping Joy.

Tucked in entwined
In a single bed
Hollow mattress swallowed our worry
We clung on to each other ready for all
Our tummies wrestled hunger
Consoled by dimmed hope of tomorrow
Tomorrow with no promised difference
Sometimes worse that yesterday
Winter comes forth, will cling closer for warmth.
Days when a slice was worth more than a loaf.
The Sun found it's way above us
The sky turned blue
Now we watch the sun and moon
from the windows of a scented mansion.
The beautiful suffering of the past holds our present fortified.
