What If?

By Simeon Austin David Pangu
What if the world was different, just a change or two,
What if the sky was green, and the grass was blue?
What if the stars shone bright in the middle of the day,
What if the rivers ran backwards, and the flowers swayed?
What if our dreams came true, with just a snap of a finger,
What if the world was at peace, and war was just a linger?
What if the night was day, and the sun shone in the dark,
What if our fears were gone, and love was all we’d mark?
What if we could fly, and reach the tallest trees,
What if our hearts were free, and we lived as we please?
What if our every wish, was granted just as we say,
What if life was a song, and we danced it all away?
But as much as we may wonder, and as much as we may ask,
The world remains the same, and life remains a task.
We cannot change the course, or make the winds blow our way,
For what if’s are just wishes, that may never see the day.
So let us live our lives, with love and hope in our hearts,
For the world is what it is, and nothing can change that part.
For every moment is a gift, and every day is new,
And that is enough reason, to be thankful, me and you.
