What If There Is No Tomorrow?

By Simeon Austin David Pangu
What if there is no tomorrow, just today to be,
No future to look forward to, no yesterday to see?
What if this moment, this breath, is all that we have left,
What if this is it, the end, and our time is bereft?
Would we cherish each second, each smile, each tear,
Hold on tight to the ones we love, and let go of our fear?
Would we speak truth to power, and stand up for what's right,
Or waste away in regrets, and miss the shining light?
Would we dance in the rain, and feel the wind on our face,
Sing at the top of our lungs, and embrace our grace?
Would we reach for the stars, and chase our wildest dreams,
Or simply let life pass by, and miss what life means?
For if there is no tomorrow, no second chance to be,
We must make the most of today, and all it has to give.
For every moment is precious, every breath is a gift,
And we must cherish them all, before our time has been sifted.
So let us live our lives, with love, with hope, with mirth,
For in this moment, this breath, is all that we have on earth.
And though tomorrow may never come, let us not regret,
For today is enough, enough reason, to be thankful, to be set.
