what never was
I won't darken a door where I'm not truly wanted,
Where my presence is a burden, my love unwanted.
My heart won't yearn for a place that's not home,
Where my value is questioned, my spirit will roam.
I'll choose to walk away from a life I'd hold no value,
Where my kindness and care are seen as something so blue.
I'll find my own path, my own light to shine,
Where my love is cherished, and my soul can align.
I'll build my own kingdom, with walls made of grace,
Where my heart is protected, and my soul can find peace.
I'll find a new home, where I'm truly appreciated,
And leave behind those who have suffocated.
