What the Moon Doesn't Know

I’ve lost my muse and I don’t really know why
While her glowing sun sets my moon rises high.

The moon doesn’t know that without the suns light
Its own light’s diminished throughout the night.

So I paint about sunsets and pretty little things
And write about angels and princes and kings.

It’s just not the same when I know you aren’t there
But I don’t believe in god or that god hears my prayer.

So it’s all up to me to win your love back
or your sunlight will pass as my darkness turns black.

There is little better than an old moon can do
Then reflect the sunlight that pours out of you.

So come back to me my light and my muse
Because yours is a love that I can never refuse.
