I swear I'll never write another love poem as long as I live.
I never get back what I give.
There's so much in the world I could write about anything.
Not just about how I was ready to change your last name and a wedding ring.
Shit if I tried I could write about the presidential debate.
Not about how I fell in love and landed in hate.
Coronavirus is all the talk I'm sure I could use my skill.
Instead I just want to write about how I thought this time was real.
Trying to hold it together when I'm falling apart.
I could write about police brutality not about all this pain in my heart.
So many things I could write about it's true.
But I just want to write about you.
