Crack of dawn
Streaks of rays
As day break,
My mom and I
Set to the field
Collecting straws and hays.
Silent breeze all around
Grass waving side to side.
Sudden force tripped me down
Leapt over me
Devouring scratches all over body
Saw those vile smirk,
Malicious grin of all those animals out
I screamed and screamed and screamed
Was there my deaf mother
In a distance, heedless
Of whats happening to her daughter.
Broke to death
Pain tormenting
Clothes torn
Limbs paralyzed
Tongue slashed.
Then Wreathed in blood
Lying by ground devastated
Now in cremated ground
Rites performed
With no trace of family
By another set of men in khaki.
Slowly onto sleep
I wondered,
What was all my fault
To be a woman?
