We were taught to give,
Encouraged to love,
Insisted to keep and not leave!
But it turned into a wonder,
Like lightning without a thunder,
That we found someone a pretender!
As if there is nothing we did ,
Like not even glanced the smiling seed,
We planted and how good we acted!
Since we expected the return,
Look! our smiles went down!
Since our hearts kept on waiting the concern!
We found ourselves like trying,
To tie ourselves around the tree which was drying!
Which couldn't even sense our hotness,
And even give us its sweet aroma ,
That we were told was sweet tasting!
Now we found this ,
We gave what wasn't easy to receive,
Invested where there were no share,
And cared where there were no care!
And this is the truth,
We give what we don't receive!
