What's on the Face

What's on the face is not always what's in the heart,
A truth we all must accept,
For life is a complex work of art,
Where appearances often deceive, intercept.
Smiles can hide a world of pain,
Eyes can mask a river of tears,
Yet on the surface, all may seem plain,
A facade that belies inner fears.
We judge and assume with a single glance,
But rarely delve into depths unknown,
Ignoring the subtle, unspoken dance,
Of emotions that are seldom shown.
A face may wear a mask of glee,
While the heart weeps silently within,
Trapped in a web of silent plea,
Concealing a world tainted by sin.
Yet amidst the shadows, hope does rise,
For courage resides in the darkest hour,
Breaking through the veils of disguised cries,
Empowering hearts to bloom, to flower.
So let us be mindful, keen and aware,
That what's on the face may not be the whole,
For within every soul, a universe to care,
A journey of emotions, a story to unfold.
Let empathy guide our words and deeds,
As we navigate this intricate tapestry of life,
For what's on the face is not always what it feeds,
And that's the essence of life's enigmatic strife.
