When I write

When I sit down to write

I block any distractions

In my head is where I go

My mind gives me traction

It's like a movie in my brain

I think lights, camera, action

When I write

The light goes on up inside

My thoughts go on random

The camera, my imagination

Visualizing words until I'm done

The action is my trusty pen

Writing and reading, I have fun

When I write

When finished I read it over

Then decide what should change

Taking one word from a line

Move it around, I re-arrange

The end result may not be good

So I'll forget it and turn the page

When I write

When I am satisfied with one

I check with friends for advice

After they give me a thumbs up

I look it over to be more precise

Once it's completed I feel better

I look again as it pleases my eyes
