I want to see the light ahead,
But some days, all I find is gray.
The road is long, the sky is low,
And even hope feels far away.
They speak of futures bright and warm,
Of golden hours yet to be
But I have walked through dreams that fade,
And truths that fall too hard on me.
The dawn delays, or hides its face,
Behind the fog I try to name.
And though I move, it’s slow, unsure
Each step both courage and a flame.
Yet even now, I still remain,
With breath, with ache, with something small
Not quite hope, but not yet gone,
A quiet pulse beneath it all.
So let the world stay dim awhile,
Let others speak of stars and skies
I’ll be here, with my quiet grief,
Still walking, with open eyes.
