When We Meet Again
I imagine us sitting quietly,
Laughing at the foolish certainty we once carried,
At the courage we thought we had
And the mistakes that quietly pulled us apart.
I’ll probably chuckle to myself,
At how serious I seemed,
At how I thought I could hold onto you
When really, I was just letting go too slowly.
And maybe, for a moment,
We’ll forgive each other without saying a word,
Two people who left each other?
And finally met again in the calm of now.
But what if we never meet?
