Who Am I
Who am I,
beneath the name they call me,
beneath the roles I was handed
before I could speak?
I am the echo of ancestors
who survived fire and forgetting.
The memory in my blood
that refuses to sleep.
I am not just flesh and bone,
I am breath borrowed from eternity,
spirit stitched into skin
for a purpose I am still unfolding.
I come from drums before clocks,
from stories told under stars,
from wisdom hidden in silence
and power learned through pain.
I have been broken,
but never erased.
I have been lost,
but never without direction.
I am the one who feels deeply
in a world that numbs itself.
The one who loves loudly
in an age of indifference.
I am becoming,
not what they expect,
but what I was always meant to be.
So when I ask Who am I?
I smile now…
Because the answer
is still rising.
