Turn left at the old circle k. I know this Avenue much too well. It hasn't changed since I've been gone. Oh this used to be my way home. They repaved the road through the neighborhood. Guess the city finally fixed it good. It was gettin rough. Someone finally complained enough. Fight the tears back with a smile. Stop an look for a little while. Oh its plain to see the only thing missin is me.
That's my house and that's my flag. That's my dog in my backyard. There's the window to the room where she lays her pretty head. I planted that Bush out by the fence not too long after we moved in. There's my son and that's my wife. Who's that man runnin my life.
If I pulled in would it cause a scene. Shes not really expecting me. My son has been through hell. I hear hes adjusted well. Turn around in the neighbor's drive. I'd be hard to recognize in this sedan it's just an old fixer up. Drive away more time. Lot a things runnin through my mind. I guess the more things change the less they seem the same.
