I

Why Can't I have you?

Oh, why can't I possess you, my dear?
In your presence, my heart longs to be near
A radiant soul, like a celestial star,
A treasure beyond measure, yet so far.
Your grace and beauty, beyond compare,
A symphony of perfection, pure and rare.
Your laughter, a melody, sweet and sublime,
Enchanting all who witness its chime.
Oh, how I yearn for your tender touch,
Like a gentle breeze, I crave it so much.
Your eyes, like deep pools of vibrant hue,
Reflecting a love, forever true.
Every word that escapes your lips,
A resplendent sonnet, like a heavenly script.
Your voice, a lullaby, calming and sweet,
Melting my soul, in melodies complete.
But fate, it seems, has dealt a cruel hand,
Placing obstacles, that I cannot withstand.
For you are meant for another's embrace,
While I dwell in a bittersweet, distant space.
I’ll cherish the memories, tucked deep within,
Moments we shared, where love did begin.
Though I may never hold you, as I long to do,
In my heart, forever, you'll stay, shining through.
So, I shall celebrate the essence of you,
A masterpiece of life, so pure and true.
In verse and rhyme, your beauty I'll extol,
A tribute to a love I cannot control.
