Why do I cry?
By:Jurrien Jones
Sometimes I cry
I just don’t know why
Why do I cry, I ask the sky
Is it the pain of a long time partner?
Is it the fact that I barely see my daughter?
Could it be that I can no longer talk with my Mother
What is family? I never hear from my sisters or brothers
Is this normal, something destined for me?
I guess the lonely life is now apart of me
I now see more openly, and the rare opportunity
They say the American dream, I looked it up and didn’t see me
I got scared but did not flee
I strive to be better than what they supposed to see
Programmed to be, inferior to the world you see
Why hate me, a question that remains a mystery.
Is it a mystery or are we afraid of facts?
Is that another brainwash to accept all of that?
Born to be true and believe in what I do
I was told that I was confused and wasn’t worth talking to
There a mystery behind my fear
It gets quiet when I get near
That may be the reason of my living
Or it may be the reason I die
At least you now know, why I cry...
