शिकवा एक है उससे कि वो कुछ बता तो देती,
मुझसे इतनी एहतियात क्यों थी, कोई वजहा तो देती!
मुझे इल्म न था इश्क़ का, यूँ ख़ाक कर के छोड़ेगा,
अंजाम-ए-उल्फ़त इतना बुरा था, वो चिंगारी बुझा तो देती!
कहते हैं मोहब्बत में अक्सर, दोनों तरफ़ असर होता है,
उस पर भी तो गुज़री होगी, वो हाल-ए-दिल सुना तो देती!
वो मेरी कहानी का हिस्सा थी, जो अभी भी अधूरी है,
ख़त्म कर देती ये किस्सा, आख़िरी पन्ना लगा तो देती!

English Translation
I have just one complaint with her, she could have let me know,
Why was she so guarded with me? The reason, she could have told me.
I never knew that love would leave me scattered into dust,
If this was where affection led, that spark she could have smothered for me.
They say in love the hearts on both sides feel the same deep ache,
What she herself had gone through too, her state of heart she could have told me.
She was a part of my story, a story still left incomplete,
If she wished to end this tale, one final page she could have shown me.
