What it is like to be a female.
We are told to walk with our keys between our fingers, when we are alone.
We are told to NEVER set your drink down because someone could put something in it.
Please
Dont get me started on the amount of times I've been told
I need someone stronger
I need someone who is taller and longer
Who is able, to carry more weight, than society has put on there shoulders
People act as if we arent as strong or stable.
By the time I was 5, I was told to never disrespect a man.
To be on my toes 24/7 because anywhere any time, someone is there to snatch you up, because they think the can.
Your place is in the kitchen
Make me a sandwich before you get hit and
Dont be out after dark.
You think you are safe, but really, your far from it.
You will never truly be safe
Until you can learn,
Keep your words in you face
Act natural
Smile sweety
Act natural
I'm hungry, feed me
Act natural
Be quiet as a mouse
Act natural
Jesus woman, clean the house
I work all day its the least you could do,
Do I have to teach you, a lesson or two
Female
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our life
We are the mothers, sisters, and wives.
You cant expect to be respected
When your not the ones who are affected
By you decisions and choices
When all you do is silence voices
We are women
Shut us down
World renowned
Women
Try again
Live again
Women
Love us or hate us
Do as you must
But
Dont expect us to give you our trust
Women we are strong
We belong
Women
So just move it along.
