Do you know what "I love you" means?
Did you know "love" and "hate" are two very strong words?They are antonyms of each other. Words are losing their original meanings, and so is life. It was words that gave life. It was words that reaffirm bond and trust. But now promises are just words. 21 trips around the sun and I've used the phrase "I promise...." to only one person. After 19 trips around the sun I started using the phrase "I love you".
These two phrases go together. They weigh a thousand galaxies on my heart and mind when I want to say them. Because these are not just words or phrases. They define you as a person. They define your bond and relationships with others. They become pillars of your everyday lives. They set the foundation of your purpose and actions.
Love yourself first and keep the promises you made to yourself first. And when you use these two phrases, your actions in portraying them would be effortless. Say these phrases, but be sure to show it. Babies see before they hear. They sense love and care before they listen and understand they words you tell them. So be mindful of your words and actions, "I love you" and "I promise" are not just words or phrases. They are words and phrases said and shown in actions.
