To be heard and not say a word
When I'm feeling depressed
And my thoughts are a mess
You love me for who I am and who I can be
Because YOU see the potential in me
You love that I stand up for what I believe in
I love the way YOU taught me to trust my inner voice from within
You are the tears in my eyes when we are apart
It's because of you I even HAVE A HEART
You go through your day as you usually do
But I understand that your heart was ripped apart too
You are the reason in believe in hope & unconditional love
You are a true Blessing from above
Your endless wisdom and great advice always...makes me think twice
I am determined and impulsive and tend to get into fights
You made sure I had bail money and knew my rights
You & I have a special bond
It will last through this Lifetime and beyond
I never planned on continuing my life
Then you came along and said "Look to the future. What do you dream? Where will it go?"
I literally had no answer.
You continued on and said
"you'll get there, THIS I Know!"
Tears streamed down my face
Because I felt i had lost my place
Our closeness has grown deeper over the years and
We have shared our hopes and fears
You Dad, are a Man I am so grateful for!!
You are a Blessing I have had
Knowing without question, that the Greatest Gift is the love shared between a Father& his Favorite daughter!
