Written Emptiness

I Set foot in an abandoned library
To my surprise I found no book
Only an unfinished story
And a painting of a lady with a crook
Wandering about in all its desolate places
All the shelves were filled with empty spaces
Once i started reading this story
This lady changed her looks accordingly
The crook stayed the same determinedly
The story was about them undeniably
They loved each other indubitably
She glowed up with the passing pages
They had their ups and downs they were no sages
Slowly the lady looked worried and confused
While the crook stood there as if he refused
Refused to see that which made her worried
In the story the lady distanced herself forcibly
Freeing herself of the claws of this crook
She disappeared from the painting quietly
The crook stared at this void all shook
Impatiently I kept reading with fervor
As if I was doing myself a favor
Soon after there were no more pages left
I looked at the last page bereft
I looked back to the painting
The crook was sitting with his head down
Hands in his hair repenting
In desperation and tears on his face he broke down
After he saw me
The person he used to be
