ये जो कलि काल है माधव, रहा न इसमें सत्य-स्नेह,
चेहरों पर तो मुखौटे हैं, और निर्वस्त्र होती जाती देह।
वचनों का अब कोई मूल्य नहीं, स्वार्थ का बड़ा बाज़ार हुआ,
दया-धर्म सबमें नष्ट हुए, संयम-सदाचार लाचार हुआ।
लोभ-लालच ने सबको घेर लिया, बिकता हर ईमान यहाँ,
सच बोलना अपराध हुआ, झूठ से चलता व्यापार यहाँ।
न्याय-नीति भी शर्मसार हुए, कर्तव्य पड़ा है मौन कहीं,
केशव, तेरे चरणों के बिना, इस युग का उद्धार नहीं।
तुझ बिन इस जग को संभाले कौन, सत्य का दीप जलाए कौन,
आ जा फिर से गोविंद मोरे! खोया संसार बचाए कौन?

English translation
O Madhav, this age of Kali has become so dark,Neither truth nor genuine affection survives within it.
Faces now hide behind countless masks,
While human dignity stands increasingly exposed and stripped away.
Words no longer carry any value,
A vast marketplace of selfishness now rules the world.
Compassion and righteousness are fading everywhere,
Restraint and moral virtue stand helpless and defeated.
Greed and temptation have surrounded every soul,
Integrity itself is sold openly here.
Speaking the truth has become a crime,
While falsehood runs the business of this world.
Justice and morality hang their heads in shame,
Duty lies silent and abandoned somewhere.
O Keshav, without Your divine presence,
This age can never find redemption.
Without You, who will protect this world?
Who will keep the lamp of truth alive?
Come once again, O Govind, my Lord!
Who else can save this lost and broken world?
