Years ago,
We'd dance.
Months ago,
You died.
I know it wasn't your fault.
However,
I ask.
Who will twirl me now?
Who will sing with me?
At the top of our lungs,
And extremely off key?
Who will yell?
At the TV,
When a game is lost
(It feels wrong to yell without you)
Who will rejoice with me?
When the next game is won.
(I can't do that without you)
But I suppose I'll have to learn.
Won't I?
I'll have to twirl myself.
Sing loud and off key alone.
I'll yell at the TV.
(Don't worry, I'll make sure the neighbors hear it. You always did.)
I'll celebrate,
Possibly with the neighbors.
(When i go over to apologize)
Years ago,
We'd dance.
Today,
I dance alone.
