Like a piece of paper I lay on the ground all alone.
Many people passed me by and many more trampled on me over and over.
I had lost my beauty and was deprecated,
Useless to the hands of many,
vile to their eyes.
An outcast. A sinner among righteous sinners.
I hated life and all it offered.
Tried to woo Hades but he too rejected me.
The memory of when you passed by is still alive and kicking.
You looked so fresh as a daisy,
A feast for the eyes, I couldn't resist.
My hunger you gratified yet I didn't deserve you.
It had been so long since I plastered a smile on my grotesque face,
But by one look at you I couldn't help but evince some degree of bliss.
Among many vistas, you are the most comely I have set my eyes on,
even when I take my last breath, I'll still see you picture in my eyes.
Believe it or not,
I still remember the exact words you said to me,
when you bent over to speak to me as I lay their speechless,
and helpless.
You asked if I would like to take your hand in mine,
and start a journey to recovery with you by my side.
After all the torment, I needed a breath of fresh air
and so I said ' Yes I do.'
So far no regrets.
You have given me zero reason to regress,
I'm now fourfold brawny even when hit by a boulder, I can't move a muscle.
Thanks to you my glorious visage and bonny smile are restituted.
You choose me and I you,
I wouldn't rethink my choice even in a million years.
If asked again, I'd still say 'Yes I Do'
over an over.
