When you talk I have to obey
No matter what to me you would say
Only respond when I am spoken to
And also I am not suppose to look at you
I hv to do it even if it causes me pain
And the memories just drive me insane
I must always be at your side
I know its never because I am your bride
I think I should be thankful for how you threat me
Because for what the other master's do I does see
But still why should I be treated this way
For the colour of our skin is why we have to pay
In life for us there's no happiness
But still by god I no we are blessed
Because you see how strong we are
And you know when we strive we do reach very far
That is what really scares you
You are very aware of all that we can do
So that is why you always want to be over us
Make us stand or ride to the back of the bus
You take your whip and mark our skin
You always make sure its sharp and thin
Abuse us any way you like
And we can't make a fuss or fight
We all are one in Gods sight
He made us to live here together
But still we fight and kill each other
In his eyes we are all brother and sister
We should be living in love and happiness forever
We was never meant to live in slavery
This land is equal for you and me
Some places we still live by race and color
Not only by answering yes master
But by labeling white is rich and black is poor
So just by looking you done know who gets the job
And who standing at the side walk collecting the Bob
This is so painful and sad to see
Because most times the one deserving the job is the one saying yes master and serving the cup of tea.
