You don’t know everything
You said I should find a boy,
as if love alone could craft my joy.
But you don’t see the weight I bear,
the hidden wounds, the silent despair.
You told me I feel bad too easily,
like fleeting storms that fade peacefully.
But my heart is fragile, quick to break,
a tender soul with scars that ache.
You cannot know what lies inside,
the restless truths I’ve tried to hide.
With boys, I’ve stumbled, lost my way,
regrets that linger, choices astray.
So don’t believe they’ll mend my scar,
sometimes their touch can wound me far.
I don’t need to be fixed,
I need to find my own way to grow again.
To be accepted for all I’ve been,
the light, the dark, the flaws within.
Not bound by roles the world defines,
but seen in full — these wounds, still mine.
