I just finished my shift
I was lucky to get a lift
Picked up by a stranger
Could spell out danger
But he brought me home
And then we talked some
Out of the blue he said
Is this life any good
If you're misunderstood
That's me I calmly said
He asked what I meant
I said I am a Colored
And it caused a dent
Our voice was never heard
I am Black and White
I am day and also night
So who'll take me serious
So my final answer is yes
They don't have to get you
But to yourself stay true
And life will become better
Coz to yourself you matter
