Once we shared a love as
deep as the ocean and as
wide as the bright blue sky.
There were no boundaries
To mark the limits of our
Young and growing love.
When you would cry that life
hurts so very much I would
hold you in my heart.
But over time life’s hurts
Built up and our hearts lost
Touch with one another.
We began to turn on one
Another and left wounds
That we never healed.
In time my heart had so
Many holes that it could
No longer hold your tears.
And so it ended, the life of
Carefree love and hope we
once shared in our youth.
