Your Darkness

I've seen the hands that touched your darkness,
Traced the markings on your floors,
Trailed the halls you ran so faintly,
Breathless, as you tripped and crawled,
I've sung the song the shadows taught you,
Long before your tongue could speak,
In the quiet of your cradle,
As they lulled you off to sleep,
I've kissed the corners of your sickness,
In your twisted, wretched mind,
Making friends of devils witness,
Scraping scars they left behind.
And now I've found you're not as hopeless,
As you feel your soul should be,
For in the end, you still could never,
Darling, be as dark as me.
