Your Path I walk
©Onyekachi C Ugwu
you speak of me in flowing colours
like the disciples
of socrates did
even while
he awaited a sip of the Hemlock.
of them that speak in such terms
heavens gate rejoice that saints
people the earth
yet even in
an age of base fanatics.
lady of renowned fame
as the Greeks render your name
could there be words
to sculpt an image
of your essence
my hands would not
be restrained
but work to work on stones and woods
catching in hue and shades
that beauty of your soul
that ravishes me.
i am spontaneous
you bring out the art in me
your lines of essays
holding me spell bound
like it does all who see what I see
peering through the window of your amazing soul
to embrace the path you walk
lined with enriching allure
of the bougainvillea
