Youth

Youth
She is a child, yet dreams to be grown,
Chasing a world that is not her own.
Believes in wonderlands, castles touching skies
Lost in her magic, unaware of darkness lurking around

She sails through oceans in books she reads,
Living a million different forgotten creeds.
Her heart is on fire with passions untamed,
Yet often she’s lost, unnamed,
She writes her stories, she paints her skies,
She speaks in tongues, with a thousand tries.
Her fingers sing on instruments wide,
Carrying a suitcase full of unsong songs ,
Her soul has traveled the world outside.

But she forgets, as the days unfold,
The grace of youth is a gift of gold.
What others long for, she holds today,
A fleeting wonder that won’t always stay
Let her not leave it, not yet, not soon.
