A Silence, Love

A Silence, Love

Confined between my heart, my mouth, and my thoughts,

A love was born.

It lived, it grew without seeing the dawn;

Each time it tries to grasp the evanescent,

An opposite challenges its wings.

It cannot express itself,

And like one oppressed,

I hold forth in silence,

For fear of altering this fraternal love that reigns between you and me,

I become like nepheline,

I dispossess myself as well.

Constantly, I fear losing both friendship and love,

And habitually, I choose friendship.

I tell myself there will be other loves.

If I do not reveal the clarity of my affection,

I vow to ask your forgiveness,

Sorrowful!!!

I choose to nurture your esteem,

For you are distinct.
