Gods don't pray

Gods don't pray
gods... gods don't pray,
but people... they actually are,
when they see blood-red sunsets,
when they see a shooting star.
They pray while driving
and yelling, "Damn it, I'm late!"
too often, their logic leaves the chat.
When they see mirror hours,
they make a wish,
and when it comes true,
they're just speechless and flinch.

No, gods don't pray,
everyone knows it.
They know who they are
and know how to show it.
They have human names,
two legs, and two hands
but somehow, they make you
feel out of your place.
Often, but suddenly,
metaphorically... actually...
they make you change schedule,
act irrational, silly.
They make you believe
that you can break the glass ceiling!

No, gods don't pray,
and that's the whole point.
They're made of the things
you curve to and avoid
clarity of mind,
carefree happiness,
even
under load and stress,
undercurrent of safety,
And this text is just a dream
that you weren't meant to see,
like some things in this world
just not meant to be.
