// The Time Of The Body //
Your hands sought me.
They slid like oil along my sides,
your fingers, heavy with rings, slipping slowly
where others had no right to go;
our breaths grew short in no time,
our eyes finally burning
for the long-awaited flesh.
Yet everything — every single thing —
was consumed in an instant:
your burning tongue,
my fascinated lips,
our gaze locked in a vice,
our hands damp and sweaty.
And then it was all gone, sudden,
before our bodies
could learn to believe it.
