A wish beyond my right
You are a star beyond my reach ,
A light that shines where I can't be.
Though I am prosperity itself ,
I can't stay beside thee.
Yet wherever your footsteps wander,
My blessings follow too;
Though unseen by your eyes,
I bring prosperity to you .
You are the sun that all hearts need,
Yet need no heart in return.
A sky so vast , so beautiful ,
Beyond the touch for which I yearn.
I stand afar,yet close in spirit,
A silent shadow at your sides;
Through every storm and every sorrow,
In your happiness I reside .
I asked for neither praise nor reward,
Nor for your graze to rest on me.
But deep within my aching heart
Lived one impossible plea .
Fo all the love I carried for you ,
For all the dreams I held so true ,
My greatest wish, my deepest pain,
Was simply to be loved by you.
A wish so small, yet out of reach ,
A prayer the heavens never knew;
And still I keep it in my soul-
To be loved by you.
