Fleeting Warmth
A fewsoft words ,a fleeting light,
Like a dawn that warms a cold,long night .
It touches places deep inside,
Where tired hopes no longer hide .
A smile appears, I start to feel,
A warmth I think might somehow heal.
But just like waves that reach the shore,
It leaves me empty than before.
For kindness comes in fragile threads,
Then slips away like unsaid words .
And I am left to understand-
How warmth can burn and still feel kind.
I wish for more than brief embrace,
For steady light , for steady grace.
Not moments sweet that fade to grey.
But something that will truly stay.
