My Home, My peace
It was never about the walls that surround me,
Neither the roof that rests on top.
It was the people who made a house a home,
Their presence... peaceful enough.
A little inconvenience and I rush back,
Into that safe cavern that quiets my mind.
Not just a return, but a long exhale
After a day that wore me thin.
My home has seen me through it all!
The good times and the bad,
The laughs that echoed down the halls,
The cries no one else had.
Some memories hang on the walls,
Most live in thoughts and hearts.
It's grown with me,
Held me through every stumble, every season,
Witnessed who I was
And loved me without reason.
It's not just a place,
It's a feeling that never departs.
My home. My peace.
