Unnoticed
I don’t mind silence—
just not this kind,
the kind that leaves me
standing in the middle of a conversation
no one hears.
I speak,
and my words fall through,
like they were never meant
to land anywhere at all.
It’s a strange feeling,
being present
and still invisible—
watching everything move on
without you.
So I grow quieter,
not all at once,
but in small, careful steps—
until I’m gone
in ways no one can see.
And maybe that’s the truth of it:
if your presence
never made an impact,
your absence
won’t make a difference.
